What exactly is the COFFEEBOXX?

Our machine is a beyond rugged, single-serve coffeemaker that goes where you go. Its ultra-durable and built to handle the harshest environments, so whether you’re in the shop or the great outdoors, a perfect cup of coffee is never far away.

Why do I need a rugged coffee maker?

Today’s counter-top ­based appliances like coffee makers are made for just that ­ a clean, climate controlled counter-top space inside. The COFFEEBOXX was designed from the ground up based on portability and rugged use. With those special conditions in mind, everything had to be rethought – components needed to be reinforced, plastic needed to be UV resistant, the water tank needed to be spill proof and the entire unit had to be lightweight and compact to store. You get all that with the COFFEEBOXX.

Well, how tough is the COFFEEBOXX?

We’ve made it dust proof, water proof, and spill proof. The self-contained water tank keeps dirt out and the coffee clean. You don’t have to worry about taking it to the job site or tossing it in the back of a truck bed — it’s crush proof too. The COFFEEBOXX is made to be durable­­ not dainty.

Is the COFFEEBOXX battery powered? Or can I get a battery pack?

In designing the COFFEEBOXX, we realized that a battery power source would not be the most optimal. To heat the water to 190 degrees in less than 30 seconds and have quick brew times of 75 seconds, the COFFEEBOXX needed some more juice.

The COFFEEBOXX uses an ultra durable, 3-foot retractable power cable. It runs on standard US 120 volt plug-in power sources, pulls 1450 watts, and 60 Hz. Portable battery packs that are out in the market are usually between 18 volts to 56 volts, these don’t provide enough power or can’t hold a long enough charge. Plus, having a battery pack would double up the weight and costs, we desire to keep things as practical as possible.

I drink a lot of coffee, why did you make the COFFEEBOXX single serve?

Say goodbye to the days of wasting half a pot because it got stale, cold, or dirty from work environment dust and debris. No more spilling coffee into a mug or thermos that’ll only keep it hot for so long. With the COFFEEBOXX, you can make your coffee hot and fresh when you want it, wherever you want it. Single serve coffee pods are also perfect for brewing coffee on-the-go because they are easy to carry (unlike the traditional coffee makers that require bags or cans of pre­ground coffee, filters, scoops, and make a mess)

Bottom line: single-serve means a perfect cup in less time and with less waste.

I like the single serve idea but don't like using disposable pods. Is there an alternative?

Yes! EcoFill™ refillable pods are specifically designed for the COFFEEBOXX. You can find a 4-pack in our shop.

How big is the water tank and how many cups can I get out of one tank?

The water tank is the largest, self-sealed water reservoir in the market for coffee machines, and it holds 84.5 oz. When you choice the 8 oz cup you can get 10 cups of hot coffee or if you choice 12 oz cup you will get 7 cups!

If I have a taller cup, how can I get it to fit underneath into the COFFEEBOXX Brewing Compartment?

The COFFEEBOXX has a roomy Brewing Compartment to fit large cups, insulated mugs, and some thermoses. With the drip tray, it can accommodate a 7” tall cup. By removing the drip tray, which you can simply remove by lowering the drip tray and pulling out of its hinge sockets, it can accommodate an 8” tall cup. The area is 4” wide.

Is there a water filter that I need maintain or change?

Yes, the COFFEEBOXX uses a carbon filter that is located on the top of the Water Tank. The filter removes contaminants and impurities.

WARNING: Do not fill the water tank from a pond or stream, that needs a different type of filtration!

We suggest that you should change out your filter every three months to make sure that you get the best tasting cup of coffee! If you need additional filters they can be purchased in our shop.

How do I change my water filter?

1. Remove the Water Filter Holder Cap

2. Tap the Water Filter Holder on a hard surface until the filter can be easily removed by hand.

3. Take replacement filter and soak with clean water.

4. Insert Water Filter in Holder and place the cap back on.

5. Twist to lock tight before placing back into the Water Tank.

Does the COFFEEBOXX work with all brands of coffee pods?

The COFFEEBOXX works with all K­Cup® compatible single serve coffee pods* and most reusable pods.

What are my payment options?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Please note that Apple Pay and Google Pay will not work for subscriptions.

How much does it weigh?

The COFFEEBOXX weighs 12 lbs when it the water tank is empty. With a full water tank it weighs 17 lbs.

What are the dimensions of the COFFEEBOXX?

It is 11″L x 9″W x 11.5″H

What are the specs on power?

The COFFEEBOXX is a 120 volt AC, 1450W appliance

Why didn’t you make the COFFEEBOXX with a battery?

It takes a lot of power to make good, hot coffee so, unfortunately, the batteries we’ve seen in the marketplace just don’t have the strength to do the trick (well, a car battery might work). The COFFEEBOXX pulls down 1450W so we recommend at least a 2000 watt generator or inverter if you go that route, but be sure to consult the manufacturer of the alternate power source before using the COFFEEBOXX. Also, make sure the power source is connected correctly and can safely supply the required power in the rugged, remote environments.

What kind of maintenance and cleaning should I do to keep the COFFEEBOXX running its best?

We recommend descaling every three months. Descaling removes calcium deposits that can build up (see instructions in the User Guide. on how to use vinegar and the proper steps. The COFFEEBOXX will remind you when it’s time. Descaling helps to ensure the best performance of your machine as well as the best tasting coffee.

Can I leave the COFFEEBOXX out in freezing temperatures?

Our engineers do not recommend this. Remember to always store the COFFEEBOXX in a dry, controlled environment. Empty the Water Tank and allow it to completely air dry prior to storage. Follow the directions for flushing the machine on page 13 of the User Guide.

What does the one-­year warranty cover?

We stand behind our products and customers 100%! It warrants that your OXX appliance will be free of defects in materials or workmanship and under normal use for one year from the date of purchase. We will repair or replace (based on our review) the OXX appliance without charge upon its receipt of proof of purchase. This does not cover consequential or incidental damages and negligence use, such as property damage, flood damage, or intentional damaging. See full warranty info in the User Guide.

How can I transport my COFFEEBOXX, coffee pods, accessories, etc.?

The Field Case is available in our shop. The Field Case is designed to take your machine anywhere and anytime. It’s great because there are additional compartments to hold coffee pods, sugar, creamer, stirs, etc.

Does the COFFEEBOXX come in other colors?

Yes, you can purchase the Limited Edition COFFEEBOXX in black in our shop.

What is the Subscription?

The subscription program is a convenient way to make sure you never run out of coffee. Choose your favorite roast and how often you want it delivered, then BAM! It’ll show up on your doorstep without having to do anything more. It’s like Christmas morning on a regular basis. Plus, you’ll save 20% off all your coffee!

How do I create a Coffee Subscription?

It’s simple, just follow these few steps:

  1. Go to Workhorse Coffee under “Shop” and choose your roast of Workhorse Coffee.
  2. Once on the product page, you will see an option for “Subscribe & Save 20%”. Once you select the subscribe & save option, choose how much coffee you want and how often you want it delivered.
  3. Add your subscription to the cart. If you want other roasts, repeat steps 1-3.
  4. Check out like normal, but this time you will be asked to create or sign-in to an account. The account will allow you to track your subscription or make any changes to it.

That’s it! Now sit back and relax because you will never have to worry about running out of coffee!

But what if I run out of coffee?

It means you’re a coffee addict, but don’t worry, we don’t judge and can help feed your addiction!

  1. Sign in to your OXX Herd Account.
  2. From there, click “subscription” from the menu on the right-hand side.
  3. On the subscription page, choose the tab that says, “NEED MORE NOW”. This will take you to the Workhorse Coffee page for you place a one-time order for more coffee at your 20% off subscription cost.
  4. Continue checkout like normal! But we highly recommend that you up your coffee subscription so this NEVER happens again.

How do I change/edit my Coffee Subscription?

Did you realize you’ve been running dangerously low on coffee before you get your next order? No problem, just change your order!

  1. Sign in to your OXX Herd Account.
  2. From there, click “subscription” from the menu on the right-hand side.
  3. On the subscription page, choose the tab that says, “CHANGE SUBSCRIPTION”, and click OK to confirm you want to change your subscription.
  4. You will be directed back to the Workhorse Coffee pages for you to choose a new quantity and delivery period.
  5. Add to cart and continue the checkout process.

If you have multiple subscriptions that you need to update, you will need to repeat the steps above for each subscription.

NOTE: THIS WILL CANCEL YOUR OLD SUBSCRIPTION AND START A NEW ONE WITH A NEW DELIVERY DATE.

How do I skip my next delivery of Workhorse Coffee?

We’re glad to hear that you have stocked up so if you need to skip your next delivery, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Count how many pods you have left and make sure you have enough until your next delivery. You don’t want to run out mid-month.
  2. Once you have determined that you have enough, sign in to your OXX Herd Account.
  3. From there, click “subscription” from the menu on the right-hand side.
  4. On the subscription page, choose the tab that says, “SKIP NEXT DELIVERY” and click OK on the confirmation.

Your next shipment will be skipped, but if you do run out of coffee you can always place a one-time order with your subscription discount. Just follow the steps in “WHAT IF I RUN OUT OF COFFEE” question.

How do I cancel my Subscription?

We’re not exactly sure why anyone would do this, but it’s your choice if you want to run out of coffee.

  1. Sign in to your OXX Herd Account.
  2. From there, click “subscription” from the menu on the right-hand side.
  3. On the subscription page, choose the tab that says, “CANCEL” and click OK on the confirmation.

How to edit my billing and/or shipping details for my subscription?

If you need to update your addresses so that your coffee doesn’t ship to the wrong place, just follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your OXX Herd Account.
  2. From there, click “subscription” from the menu on the right-hand side.
  3. On the subscription page, choose the tab that says, “CHANGE ADDRESS
  4. Update your addresses and click save.

How do I edit my payment methods?

Make sure to never miss a shipment by keeping your payment method up-to-date:

  1. Sign in to your OXX Herd Account.
  2. From there, click “subscription” from the menu on the right-hand side.
  3. On the subscription page, choose the tab that says, “CHANGE PAYMENT”
  4. Choose “Use New Payment Method” at the bottom of the screen and enter in new card information in the pop-up window and click “Change payment method” to save the new payment
  5. Click “update” once again and your payment method is saved.
